MEET THE TEAM

OUR ADVISORY BOARD

A Registered Nurse for over 35 years, Sherry has made the transition from a career of serving in the medical community, to serving our heroes that have and are serving in the military, law enforcement, and as first responders. Her passion has always been in serving others in the community and all that she meets.

“It has been an honor to serve and help bring hope and purpose to those that have given so much for our God given Freedom,” says Sherry.

She and her husband have been blessed with 5 beautiful children along with their spouses, and 12 grandchildren.

Dick Baker graduated from the University of New Mexico in 1967, immediately entering the United States Marine Corps through the NROTC program. He served as an officer in the USMC from 1967 until 1970 deploying to Vietnam in 1968-1969. After active duty, he attended the Baylor University School of Law, receiving his JD degree in 1973. During law school he served as the Commanding Officer of the Waco Marine Reserve Unit. After graduation he returned to New Mexico where he served as Chief Deputy District Attorney of the First Judicial District. After the Penitentiary of New Mexico Riot on February 2-3, 1980, in which 33 inmates were killed, he was appointed Chief Riot Prosecutor. Mr. Baker has practiced civil law, but his primary career has been as a State and Federal prosecutor. He retired in 2012, with over 30 years working for the Department of Justice as an Assistant US Attorney for the District of New Mexico and the Northern District of Texas. During his career he served as an Adjunct Professor of Law at Texas Tech University School of Law for 27 years and volunteered at Vetstar providing pro bono legal services to Veterans.

Mr. Baker’s constant companion is his German’s Shepherd Dog, Beth Dutton-Baker, named after Beth Dutton of Yellowstone fame, because of the similarities in their personalities. His goal is to become a competent handler, teaching veterans to form a bond with and share companionship with the working dog.

Bradley is a combat veteran with 9 years of service in the United States Army with overseas deployments to the Balkans and in Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. After receiving an honorable discharge, he reentered civilian life in 2006, furthered his education receiving an Associates of Science from South Plains College, a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences, and a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree.

Bradley has worked as a physical therapist since 2011 and owns his own private practice where he helps patients recover and rehabilitate from numerous physical conditions. Bradley looks forward to using his knowledge and skill set to help Veterans and first responders recover from injuries, improve physical health, and use the power of the body to help heal the mind.

Bradley is a father to two beautiful daughters. He enjoys training and working with his two English mastiffs, Odin and Freya, at T6. He feels the training and environment is something that has filled a missing piece in his life that he once had when he was serving in the military.

Drew received a Bachelor degree from Texas Tech in 2004. Drew’s service includes the US Navy Seabees 2006-2011 (Can Do!) and one tour Operation Enduring Freedom (Afghanistan.)

Drew left the Navy as a Construction Mechanic Second Class and is received Vetstar/Texas Veterans Commission 2016-2021. He has worked in both the Housing for Texas Heroes and Military Veteran Peer Network grants.

“I have come to realize that peer support is one the most powerful tools that a community can apply to its veterans, first responders, and their families. The opportunity afforded me by T6 of West Texas to develop and present a training course for the community at large about peer support and applying it at a non-clinical level is an answered prayer.  I am humbled and excited to be part of this team and I will do my level best to get everyone who is willing to listen to me engaging the people around them, actively listening, and providing peer support.

Remember, it’s ok to ask for help,” states Drew.
